FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you order a piece?2024-02-20T14:59:15+11:00

We are a made to order furniture company. We craft each piece of furniture in our
workshop to order. Call or email to discuss your project.

What do you make?2024-02-20T14:29:09+11:00

Everything – no project too big or small – Dining Tables, Beds, Bedsides, Chests of Drawers, cabinets, entertainment units, coffee tables, hall stands, book shelves, desks, doors etc.

What Finishes & Polishes do you use?2024-02-20T14:29:27+11:00

Generally we use a natural linseed/tung oil base finish that we blend ourselves with our own beeswax final finish. This is a time-consuming process but really enhances the lustre of the timber. This finish does patina over time and requires some maintenance. Alternatively a Danish oil finish for wet areas and on request.

How to look after your Timber Trip product?2024-02-20T14:29:50+11:00

Basically a damp soft cloth is all that is required to wipe the surface down. Do not use chemical or “wood” cleaners as this only strips the timber of the natural finish. Every six months or so a dining table will require a re-application of some natural oil but this is easily done at home using a natural based oil finish and a cotton rag. Always use a trivet on the dining table when placing hot objects and don’t let water seep from a pot plant or vase as this will blacken the timber.

Can you supply your own timber?2024-02-20T14:30:07+11:00

If the timber that you have has been stored properly (we will moisture check it) and depending on the application we are happy to use timber from your own source – for example timber that has fallen on a property, salvaged from your building demolition or has been stored for many years in a grandparents shed – can be crafted by us into a piece of furniture.

We’re so thrilled with the Table, and just love having another one of your masterpieces in our home. Thank you!
